WAMBERAL BEACH HOUSE
The design of the house centres around the idea of the spiral in nature. Throughout the house principles of open and closed space are explored, of compression and expansion. The house is designed as a pinwheel of pavilions stepping down the site. It pays respect to its neighbours by stepping in and out along the boundary providing privacy and green space. The front garden provides a meandering entry through the landscape which acts as a veil to to the street scape. The site was originally unbuilt upon, and the design proposed was without any opposition from neighbours.
